As tensions over trade, Taiwan, technology, and global influence intensify, the meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping may determine the future balance of power between Washington and Beijing. By Dr. Pshtiwan Faraj | Sulaimani, Iraq | 13 May 2026 — Kurdish Policy Analysis "We don't have permanent allies and we don't have permanent enemies, only our interests are permanent, and we have to follow them." – Henry John Temple. The root of the current Strait of Hormuz tensions is not only about shipping routes or oil prices, but also about the final collapse of the historical US concept towards Beijing. However, the 2025 National Security Strategy, released by the White House in November, says this was a historic mistake because China used the assets it accumulated to strengthen itself and compete with the West, not to become their partner. German Parliamentary Testimony Sparks Vaccine Safety Clash as Claims of Thousands of Deaths Ignite Global Debate

Kurdish Policy Analysis / SULAIMANI, IRAQ--Contested remarks by former Pfizer toxicologist collide with official data, as political scrutiny, public distrust, and online amplification fuel a new phase of the post-pandemic narrative war.

A German parliamentary hearing has reignited debate over COVID-19 vaccine safety after controversial claims by a former Pfizer toxicologist, drawing pushback from official data and amplifying global online reactions.

— A German parliamentary inquiry into COVID-19 policy has triggered renewed controversy after testimony from a former pharmaceutical toxicologist was widely circulated online, prompting debate over vaccine safety and the interpretation of post-vaccination data.

Dr. Helmut Sterz, who previously worked in drug safety evaluation, addressed a session of the Bundestag’s COVID inquiry commission, referencing reported deaths following vaccination recorded by Germany’s Paul Ehrlich Institute.

Sterz cited a figure of just over 2,000 reported deaths temporally associated with vaccination and suggested that underreporting could imply a higher number. However, such extrapolations are not accepted by public health authorities and remain highly contested among experts.

German regulators, including the Paul Ehrlich Institute, have consistently stated that most reported deaths following vaccination are coincidental and not causally linked to the vaccines, based on extensive pharmacovigilance data and population-level mortality analysis.

Mainstream scientific consensus continues to hold that COVID-19 vaccines, including Comirnaty, have a strong safety profile, with benefits significantly outweighing risks.

The hearing, which is publicly accessible, forms part of Germany’s broader retrospective review of pandemic policy, including procurement, rollout decisions, and risk communication strategies.

The claims gained further traction online after being amplified by high-profile figures, including Elon Musk, who commented on his personal experience with vaccination side effects, describing a severe reaction following a second dose.

Elon Must wrote The vaccine dosage was obviously too high and done too many times. I had the original Wuhan virus before there was any vaccine and it was much like any other cold/flu. Bad, but not terrible. But my second vaccine shot almost sent me to the hospital. Felt like I was dying."

Public health experts caution that anecdotal experiences, while important, do not substitute for large-scale clinical and epidemiological data when assessing vaccine safety.

The episode highlights a widening divide between institutional health assessments and segments of public opinion, as pandemic-era decisions continue to face political and societal scrutiny.

Analysts say the controversy reflects a broader “information battlefield,” where scientific findings, political narratives, and social media amplification increasingly intersect.
