It will be determined by whether Kurdish actors can convert geography, institutions, energy, security capabilities, economic connectivity and international relationships into durable strategic power. For a stateless people, war is rarely an exceptional event. It is often the continuation of political violence by other means—and that changes what “anti-war” can mean.  Kurdish experiences of war expose the limits of conventional anti-war politics and reveal how statelessness makes violence an enduring condition rather than an exceptional event.
